Would it be possible to run this programme as a service... or to run it as a task in task scheduler?

Hmm... Interesting idea. We'll see. Should be releasing a new
update of the software with extra features soon.

Stealing the idea from MLNS, of course... but would it be possible to have SpamItBack run automatically as a screensaver?

Hmm...

Interesting idea... do you think it should look exactly the same, or
what configurable options do you feel there should be for the screensaver, etc?

The great thing about MLNS was that it automatically cut in if I left my PC alone for any length of time. So rather than having to remember to switch SpamItBack on, my PC would be hammering spammers by default.

There'd be no need for many fancy configurable options, etc. -- just have the program automatically start up when the screensaver would kick in. This is for work, not for art, after all.

(For a fancier way of doing this, check out how the Avast! virus scanning screensaver works, c/o www.avast.com -- it piggy-backs off the normal XP screensavers, adding a floating message box that shows what it's up to at the moment -- this'd be the equivalent of displaying (let's say) the Data Sent, Packages Sent, Current Spammer and Score fields from the SpamItBack data display).

Cheers, Nick

Hi Nick,

Our latest version now has the screensaver built in. Please check it out and let us know how it works out for you,

Cheers,
