How's that proposal for the next step (after of course solving annoying bug):
1. Add more new languages into the SpamItBack homepage because SPAM is a worldwide problem and everybody should be able to participate. People willing and able to translate the pages into their language could get involved and spread the news!
2. Flexible programming using "language files" instead of hardcoding the text/description into the program. Volunteers should then be able to translate the new entries easily.
3. Instead of having a help file delivered with the program I would tend to have an online manual instead. Writing a (good) manual takes a lot of time but since this is an ongoing project where volunteers are welcome, one could could define the chapter overview and people can write their part and after reviewing it will be added online. This also would give the programmers of SIB more time for coding and less time to write about it.
After the English basic version is done, one can even create a help files in other languages too.
Let's fight SPAM ... [/code] |

I have declared already writting a help file, but I keep waiting for the bug fixes first. My native language is Polish, so that I can easily translate into that language... but first I need a version which I payed for.
It may sound hard, but it's the way it is. |

I understand what you mean ... I also paid for a version which is not working for my personal spammers at all ...
I did the translation of the SIB homepage into my language (German) in the last 2 weeks and hope that the programmers have "more time" left to do the fixes so I can fight back the daily spam I receive. Maybe more people will join and support this project.
You said you are willing to write the help file (once the bugs are fixed). Do you want to include it with the software (using MS help) or do you agree in having the help file available as an online web version? |

It is up to Mr. SpamItBack to decide. We talked about a help file distributed with the software.
I think, that a Polish version of the homepage may be even more useful now but again, it is up to SpamItBack.
Let's hope, that a workable version will be released soon, so that we will be able to take the most loving care of our spammers !! |

Hi -- thanks all. Yes -- we are working on a new updated version.
(Please remember we have jobs, so this is being done in our spare time).
(Also, just so you know, we are pretty much working (not only at this)
but a few other things about 20 hours/day, so trying to spend as much
time as possible getting everything done).
A polish version would be great! Feel free to translate it, and we'll put it on the website, and include your name/give you credit in the credits section.
Thanks! |
