Ok this is a bit of a strange question but does anyone know how to make a webpage as attractive as possible to the various Spammer Email Harvesting bots?

My logic is quite simple here - if I setup an email address specifically designed to attract the harvesting bots and then leave it quite innocently lying about the web ... I suppose much like a poisoned script ... but even then you would still need to know how to make that page as 'harvester friendly' to gain the best results ....

I've done a search on 'email harvesting programs' but only managed to uncover generics rather than specific SEO type advice

Hi,

We actually have written something like that already:
the "SpamDuh! SpamItBack Extension":

SpamItBack - I tried downloading that by following the link but when run it drops out immediatly as it has decided that it is too old to run requiring a more upto ate version to be installed

j0k3r - that is the beastie that I am basically thinking of employing the concept of - however my question relates to the application and launch of such a trap (be it spampoison or a variant).

At the end of the day if I am setting out to gain a record number of bots trapped via this honeytrap then the web page that it is triggered from needs to be as 'visable' as possible on the web. Whilst standard SEO techniques would raise the page's profile and thus raise it's attractiveness to the spam bots there logically must be a method of tuning that would take it from just attractive to extreamely attractive and thus allow me to achive my goal of maximising my spam bot capture tally

Hi Elium,

The software has been updated, so if you go to the download page
now, that "SpamDuh!" extension should work fine right now. (Maybe
we should rename it too, thought it sounded cool, but just realized
people don't know what it does). It will create pages and pages of
e-mail addresses for you.

SpamItBack - your SpamDuh extension runs fine now ... an interesting little generator and a cunning third technique that can be employed as a spam bot 'capture' mechanisum

However to gain maximum effichency for even this method we whould still need to be considering what SEO type attention would make the generated pages as discoverable as possible by the spam bots than an identical set of pages that have not been tweaked in this manner

This link didn't work for me either - Is this forum still alive, I heard many people in my team talking about this website but hardly anyone here now ?

Thanks

Matt
