|
|
I have downloaded the new version yesterday.
After running a couple of hours the processing had stopped (as usual). In the Task Manager I saw that the application uses > 100 MB of memory!
It is a critical error, pls review a.s.a.p. |

Could you please let us know which tool(s) you are using to monitor
the memory and the specific output, and/or any more specific
diagnostics (i.e., which type defence are you using, is there a
particular set of addresses, etc).
Thanks |

I am running winXP with 1.4 Ghz processor and 1.5 Gigs RAM. With the program running, I opened Task Manager and saw the memory usgae fluctuates between 99MB and 105 MB of RAM. That, to me, is a very BIG resource hog. |

OK, here's an update: I quit the program and re-launched it. Of course, it didn't retain ANY of the spammer list I had previously entered (even though I paid for the registered version which is advertised to do so), then I added just a dozen additional spammer sites to the list. NOW the memory usage is fluctuating between 33 and 35 MB of RAM. Still quite high.
Previously, I would estimate that I had about 35-40 additional spam sites loaded in which undoubtedly factored into the higher memory load.
I hope this helps |

This happened to me too.
I left it running overnight. When i woke up, according to windows task manager, mem usage was over 100M, and VM size was over 800M. They system was VERY unresponsive. Every time i closed spamitback (hit stop then close window), it kept restarting it too. I had to kill the task to get it to end
I was using type 1,2,4 defenses. |

This is happening on my main computer too. Windows XP home also, but very different hardware. After like 5 hours it was upto 500M memory usage. It is doing a lot, in that 5 hours i got over 300k points. |

My system:
AMD 64 Dual Core 3800, overclocked 4800, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Professional
SpamItBack: Full 1048.1000 Version, all defense types, standard spammers.
After running overnight the system reacted very slowly, task manager showed me my memory was used up (1GB RAM). The only thing that helped to reduce the usage was to exit SpamItBack. After that I could work with my PC as usual. |

I have the strangest feeling that the current blizzard of VIAGRA spam is not a coincidence. If I'm right, someone is trying to establish just how (dis)organised we are at responding.
I believe it is vital that:
(a) Bugs are fixed asap - I'm having the same problems as some others, ie massive use of resources and ultimate crash.
(b) The "attack list" is updated frequently. B2B ventures and a couple of others are clearly out of it (probably abandoned). |
