I used to have an alexa 20K bookmarking site, and another with alexa 40K but they cam under such massive attack from spammers - and I can only call it attack cose thats how it felt - that I had to close them both down.
First I couldn't have adsense, cos I couldn't automatically filter out every last bit of spam and it would have taken several hours per day to check links manually across both sites, so I was breaking googles tos and my monetization went down the drain. Then it got worse and my hosting costs went through the roof, and I had to close down cos I was making a loss.
I wish I had known about spamitback before I closed them. But I will get my revenge - I have another smaller site that is still getting spam from some of the same people and I am going to really enjoy this! Thanks. |
