Hi all, I have been using this tool for less than a week and so far it has worked better than any anti-spam I've used to date.
One thing concerns me though. I look at these forums and they don't seem to be very active. I would like to know that this software is being used by many people.
You see people can now get hosting accounts with 2,000 GB bandwidth transfer a month for just a few bucks. If I'm doing this alone or with not many other people we won't make much of a dent with the big spammers.
Let me know who's down with spammitback
Hollah! |

The last post I see from Spamitback is from Dec 29, 2006. I wonder if he ditched.
When was the last database updated?
Would be sad if they bailed on this project |

Well,
Until I know that the spammer database is being updated on a regular basis, I will disable all of he default sites and only hit the ones that I am getting spammed directly from, which I will add manually. For all I know, the sites already hardwired into the program may no longer deserve to get hit. |

Hi Skuunk,
Hi, yes -- at the moment don't have a huge userbase of users, so not that many ppl posting at the moment.
The existing database is a bit older, so yes -- using the 'easy' mode you can submit your own spammers. |

a good way to see how many are using this software is to take a look at the high scores url (http://www.spamitback.com/anti_spam_hi_scores.php) - 36 names at the moment
Then if you consider that after about 3 days if you've not resubmitted your score you drop off this table until you resubmit you can assume that there is currently a core of at least 36 active users - enough to be classed as a small army and a far cry from the 'ghost town' impression these forums may give |

Hi Elium,
Thanks -- yes, that is correct.
It is the last 5 days, so if no one has submitted within the last 5 days, then they drop from the score table.
Ideally it would be something like 3,000 or 30,000 users But slowly gettting there. |

But have a question.
You say EASY MODE gets your own list of spammers.
I have loaded a huge list of my spammers into SpamItBack (not submitted to the Global list-not bright enough to figure that out ) but see no way to access that list.
Is there a way?
Thanks

And pissed off at spammers !! |
