Is it possible that a spammer could figure out that I am running SpamItBack, and could then determine my IP and launch some sort of attack against my machine? I am with a cable internet service, and my IP does change from time to time, but not very often.
Just curious - meanwhile, I am continuing to SpamItBack to the B@ST@RDS!

If your machine were vulnerable to attacks from the net, it would have happened already. There are like millions of machines on the net scanning ip adresses looking for openings. If you connected a machine with WIndows XP and no service packs it would be hacked within 5min. Which is a BIG reason to install all those xp security updates immediately.
The most they could do would be to DoS your IP address. But that is kind of pointless, you can just reset your cable/dsl modem and get a new one as long as your ISP didnt give you a static IP address |
