statesmen of the Buffalo Bills http://www.billsfootballauthentics.com/star-lotulelei-jersey-authentic , Lorenzo Alexander’s role heading into 2018 was widely felt by many to be primarily a locker room leader. Through two games, Alexander is making it loud and clear there’s gas left in the tank. Let’s check in on one of the brighter spots so far in the 2018 season. Play 1While the result of the play was a positive for the Baltimore Ravens, Alexander still had an excellent rep. Subtle hand-fighting technique and hustle led to a quarterback pressure. Alexander has seen 75 defensive snaps through two weeks. Most of these have kept the play in front of him, letting Alexander do what he does best: Diagnose and attack. Play 2Mostly straightforward analysis on this tackle. Alexander races across the field to make the hit. Alexander shoves off a potential blocker and stays disciplined in pursuit to make sure the play can’t develop. As soon as the second tackler arrives notice Alexander go for the ball. Play 3Despite football being a game of milliseconds, sometimes patience is still a virtue. Lorenzo Alexander doesn’t get anxious and makes sure to shoot the right gap. Once he has the angle, he gets the ankle too. Play 4Unfortunately this sack didn’t count thanks to a penalty, but Alexander and Trent Murphy reap the benefits of having more than one legitimate threat on the same side of the field. Alexander draws attention from two linemen, allowing Murphy to scoot by. As Murphy goes in for the play, he bumps the guard and frees up Alexander. Play 5From a geometry perspective, batting passes gets easier as the defender nears the quarterback. Lorenzo Alexander’s strong push puts him more than close enough to Philip Rivers to make the play. Excellent timing on the jump turns this into a tip drill with the Bills nearly getting the ball in scoring position. Play 6Harrison Phillips draws the double team http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/lorenzo-alexander-jersey , and Kyle WIlliams is a priority for the line to stop. That leaves Lorenzo Alexander free for the sack. The whistle comes quickly, robbing Alexander of the strip and recovery. Play 7Alexander is unaccounted for on this play and he takes advantage of it. The Chargers got carried away worrying about the second level, and Alexander reaches the carrier nearly at the same time as the ball.Play 8Alexander shadows the runner and makes sure there’s no way to move the ball forward. As a result, Eddie Yarbrough catches up and makes the tackle. The highlights above are not to claim he’s been perfect. But if you’re looking for a bright spot, here you go. The team captain is proving he still belongs.Buffalo Bills’ offensive line crumbles against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals was felt by many to be the beginning of the Josh Allen era for the Buffalo Bills. By the time halftime rolled around, Bills fans were left hoping the middle and end of the Josh Allen era will be much better than the starting line. Five sacks, not a whole lot of yards, and zero scores prompts the question, “what the hell happened?” The offensive line was a major talking point. How much of the burden do they bear? To find out, we timed every passing down where the snap to pressure (or pass) could be accurately recorded. If a pass was thrown without pressure http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/jeremy-kerley-jersey , the timer ended at release. For a pressure, the timer ended when a defender was close enough to impact the play. Typically, this was either at about one arm’s length of Josh Allen, or in the case of a designed roll-out when the defender occupied a space that would have flushed Allen had he not already been running. Play 1This illustrates that last concept. The timer ends at about 1.5 seconds when the defender is clearly in the backfield. Traditionally this isn’t a pressure, but for this article I wanted to identify “failures.” This is very much a failure on the part of Jordan Mills. Play 2There were 16 passing plays/sacks where the snap to “end” was able to be recorded. On only two of those snaps did Josh Allen have a clean pocket. Even on those two throws, he never made it to three seconds of pass protection. If it makes you feel better (it helped me some), Allen delivered the ball accurately on both. Play 3At the magic two-second mark, Josh Allen is staring at two orange and black helmets. He uses a little reset motion (not quite a full pump fake), which slows the defenders and possibly helps avoid a batted pass. Marshall Newhouse and Ryan Groy allowed the most pressures by my count. Jordan Mills, John Miller and Vlad Ducasse didn’t exactly have a stellar night http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/jerry-hughes-jersey , though. In 16 passes, none of these players allowed less than two pressures/failures as I’ve defined them above. Play 4The players can’t shoulder all of the blame, however. Sean McDermott indicated he was testing out different combinations along the offensive line. Ideally, a game should consist of one five-man lineup on the line. Multiple tweaks throughout the first half didn’t help them find a rhythm. Play 5This is one of those two clean pockets mentioned above. So, how bad was the line? On the recorded 16 snaps, the line averaged about 2.1 seconds of successful protection. Their best pocket of the night is the one right above this paragraph. Three snaps saw pressure in 1.5 seconds or less. The worst performance of the night saw pressure at roughly 1.25 seconds. With the regular season rapidly approaching, fans are right to be worried about the state of the offensive line.

Bills vs. Chargers: Josh Allen gets first win in Madden Simulation On Sunday Womens Matt Milano Jersey , the Buffalo Bills will play host to the Los Angeles Chargers in their home opener. Both teams are looking to avoid starting off the season 0-2 because that means playoffs are unlikely. We decided we could not wait the hours until kickoff and used EA Sports Madden NFL 19 to simulate tomorrow’s contest.Buffalo 35, Chargers 27In a shootout, it was the rookie Josh Allen winning his first career NFL start passing for 349 yards and three touchdowns! Now remember this is just a simulation, last year it had Nathan Peterman doing well against the Chargers and we all know how that ended up. Allen had to be special in this game and he was as LeSean McCoy only rushed for 36 yards on the ground. In the receiving game, it was Charles Clay stepping up with two touchdowns after being a no-show in the Week one contest. We saw third downs be a stat of interest in both the simulation last week and in the actual game as the Bills were just awful in that category. This week they are expected to do better converting on 60 percent of them. Corey GiacovelliJoey Bosa ruled out for Week 2 vs Buffalo Bills: injury update When the Buffalo Bills meet the Los Angeles Chargers in the home opener on Sunday, one of the best Chargers won’t be present. Defensive end Joey Bosa, who’s rehabbing a foot injury, has been declared out for Week Two. Bosa had a major impact as the Chargers stomped the Bills Authentic Tre'Davious White Jersey , 54-24, last season. He lived in the backfield, blowing up run plays and recording a sack and a forced fumble as the Chargers coasted to a massive lead. In his absence, Melvin Ingram (who was selected to the Pro Bowl last season) will carry the load.Bosa is the headliner, but two other Chargers are in danger of missing this one. Starting right tackle Joe Barksdale injured his knee in the season opener, and didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Receiver Travis Benjamin, who had 663 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns last year, hurt his foot in week one and also hasn’t practiced yet. Unless they return to practice on Friday Womens Rafael Bush Jersey , they’re in danger of missing the game. For the Buffalo Bills, two starters might not play on Sunday. Defensive end Shaq Lawson strained his hamstring in week one, and hasn’t practiced this week. Rookie cornerback Taron Johnson hurt his shoulder, and also has yet to practice with the team. Rookie Ray-Ray McCloud (knee) was running through some drills without pads on, but still qualified as a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday.
