brings some answers Jim Otto Jersey , leaves other questions"The free agent negotiating period just opened and the Raiders are already making big moves. They are signing former Patriots Trent Brown to a record contract according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This record deal isn’t to be a right tackle. He will move into the left tackle spot, moving previously touted ‘left tackle of the future’ Kolton MIller to right tackle. The Raiders drafted Kolton Miller at 15 overall in 2018 to make him their left tackle of the future. They put him in at the position right away and he struggled. Right tackle Brandon Parker was arguably even worse, so the prevailing thought was that they would address the right tackle spot and give Miller another shot at left tackle. They end up addressing both positions with Brown’s addition, putting Miller where they probably should have put him from the start.Brown is a former 7th round pick by the 49ers out of Florida. He spent three season in San Francisco before being acquired last offseason by the Patriots in trade for a 5th round pick. He started all last season at left tackle for the Patriots, including their run to the Super Bowl.In case you were wondering what Pro Football Focus thinks of him: Another defensive back is joining the Raiders. This morning former Giants safety Curtis Riley Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY SportsAnother defensive back is joining the Raiders. This morning former Giants safety Curtis Riley tweeted that he is signing with the Raiders. He joins the Raiders on a reported 1-year deal. The 6-0 Kenny Stabler Jersey , 190-pounder started all 16 games last season for the Giants after having appeared in 11 games over two seasons with the Titans with no starts. He has five career interceptions, four of which came last season. While he plays well in coverage, his tackling leaves a lot to be desired. Riley led all safeties last season with 23 missed tackles and his Pro Football Focus run stop grade of 37.1 was last in the league among 64 qualifying safeties. He was also teammates with Derek Carr at Fresno State.Former Bengals safety Georgie Iloka also visited this week, but it would appear the Raiders chose Riley over him for whatever reason.Other defensive backs added this offseason include cornerback Nevin Lawson and expected nickel corner Lamarcus Joyner.Follow @LeviDamien _________________ http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/ |
