today ahead of their Week 9 game against the Buccaneers Russell Color Rush Shepard Jersey , and they provided some good news on the injury front: the only player who missed practice is wide receiver Torrey Smith, who is still nursing a sore knee after colliding with the ground against the Eagles. Smith missed last Sunday’s game against the Ravens after missing practice every day last week.Ron Rivera doesn’t seem to be very concerned about it, though:Every one else who was limited or held out of practice yesterday participated in full today. that includes defensive end Julius Peppers and Mike Adams, who took their usual Wednesday off for rest. Quarterback Cam Newton was limited yesterday Julius Peppers Jersey , but practiced in full today. That’s good news if you are interested in the Panthers playing well on Sunday. Rookies Andre Smith and Rashaan Gaulden took full practice reps again today, which is a good sign. Smith has missed the last several weeks with a hamstring injury, and Gaulden was kept out of last week’s game against the Ravens with an ankle injury. Here is today’s full injury report:Panthers injury reportDid not participate in practiceWR Torrey Smith (knee)Limited participation in practiceNoneFull participation in practiceS Mike Adams (rest)S Rashaan Gaulden (ankle)QB Cam Newton (shoulder)TE Greg Olsen (foot)DE Julius Peppers (rest)LB Andre Smith (hamstring)Practice StatusDid not participate in practice = 0% of a player’s normal repetitionsLimited participation in practice = Less than 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsFull participation in practice = 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsGame StatusOut = Player will not playDoubtful = Player unlikely to playQuestionable = Uncertain if player will play Smith was traded to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for cornerback Daryl Worley this offseason. That means he only spent a year with the Philadelphia Eagles, but at least he got a ring out of it. On Sunday Graham Gano Jersey , Smith will travel to Philadelphia to face his former team. During his time with the defending Super Bowl champs, he lit up during the playoffs with 13 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. He was a big factor in the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl. His speed and agility made him a deep threat that the Eagles offense had lacked in previous seasons. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson spoke very highly of the speedy receiver on Wednesday. He’s been a great addition to the Panthers, indeed. His leadership ability has shown with the younger receivers. Although it’s been a quiet season for the 29-year old, that’s not entirely his fault. Smith’s longest catch of the season was a 26-yarder against Atlanta in Week 2. The Panthers only have two completions for 20+ yards so far DJ Moore Color Rush Jersey , which puts them last in the league. Adjusting to first year Norv Turner’s offense, Carolina simply hasn’t had many opportunities. But as the season progresses, Turner says they’re working on having a complete passing game and creating explosive plays. Last week against Washington, Smith had his best game yet as a Panther. Smith caught all five of his targets for 43 yards (including a two-point conversion) and a touchdown. He was a key role in the Panthers’ attempt to make a comeback. He proved he’s still a viable threat in a group of talent receivers and that he’s a difference maker. Against an Eagles’ defense that’s been weak against explosive plays James Color Rush Bradberry Jersey , Torrey Smith might be a game changer. He’s been Newton’s main target when looking deep. Head coach Ron Rivera said he was optimistic that more deep balls would start to happen when he spoke to the press on Thursday. If that holds true, Smith could build off that momentum and show why he’s been a top deep threat in the league for all these years.
